In a remote desert, a vast mobile sandminer is on an extended expedition in search of rare and valuable ores. The Doctor and Leela find an indolent crew of humans supervising the operations that are done by a lot of robots. When the humans are killed one by one, the robots seem to be blamed, but that should be impossible...
